About me.
Hi, I’m Courtney. I learnt to sew as a kid at the kitchen table - starting with pillowcases and a lot of unpicking. A few years ago, I began making my own clothes when I couldn’t find anything that felt quite right: light enough for a sunny midday catch-up, but still cute by the time drinks rolled around.
The Freckled Face grew from that search. I make handmade clothing that’s easy to wear, easy to style, and never high-maintenance. I use natural fabrics like cotton and linen because comfort shouldn’t be seasonal—and polyester doesn’t play nice with Auckland’s humidity.
Each piece is designed to move with you, from brunch to beach walks to spontaneous weekend escapes. It’s clothing that feels like home—versatile, breathable, and quietly confident
